Projects

I started my research back in 2014 during my undergraduate thesis. During the undergraduate research we extended Geonames to create Bengali Geonames. The target was to create Bengali Geowordnet so that we could classify different geographical locations in Bengali language using a standard taxonomy that is used in English.
My current PhD research focuses on two directions:
  1. Analyzing accessibility awareness and skill retention in CS undergraduate students through the integration of accessibility curricula in different levels of undergraduate classes. This is a NSF funded research that I am conducting along with my lab mates Dr Rana Ghoneim and Dr. Asmaa Mansour Alghamdi under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Ludi.
  2. Enhancing accessibility and navigation for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Integrating ML, HCI, and cutting-edge electronics, I aim to develop robust and cheap AI based solution to improve the quality of life for people with visual impairments. This is my PhD thesis that I am going to present my dissertation on (hopefully). This research is supervised by Dr. Stephanie Ludi.
